The Motorola XOOM promises to be the first tablet to challenge Apple’s dominance in the tabloid market – with the hype around it growing by the day.

To add to the feeding frenzy, T3 have done a review of the Motorola XOOM’s operating system Android 3.0, aka Honeycomb.

Google’s Engineering Manager Dave Burke gave the tech site and magazine a breakdown of what users can expect, allowing us to start to assess if the tablet deserves the iPad killer hype.

Motorola has launched a teaser ad that takes aim at the iPad from Apple and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab ahead of the impending release of its own Android operated tablet PC.

The newly released video runs through some of the best-known tablets in history, from the Moses’ 10 Commandments to the Rosetta Stone, and on a more up-to-date note, the iPad and the Galaxy Tab.

Each tablet takes some criticism before a bee flies over to a still-to-be-unveiled addition to the list, in a nod to the fact that Motorola’s up-coming tablet PC offering is to operate with the Honeycomb version of Google’s Android OS.

Sales of netbooks powered by Intel’s Atom processor now top 70 million.

The news came at the presentation of the new Dual-Core Atom N550, which powers HP’s Mini 5103 netbook.

App developers are going to react to the Atom’s ownership of the market and build apps/programs designed for netbooks that will be tailored towards the Atom processor.

THERE’S no denying that Android Tablets are the flavour of the day as most consumer electronics companies hurry to get their own Tablets out to meet the growing demand for these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has generated a lot of buzz since it was unveiled at the IFA show in September. It is certainly the most talked about Android Tablet that everyone is eager to get their hands on.
