iPad sales not affecting laptop shipments and sales
The number of laptop computers of various kinds being shipped around the world will increase notably in the second quarter of 2012, according to analysis from the Taiwan-based news and research group DigiTimes.




Nokia, the Finish technology company whose mobile phone handsets once dominated the market, has seen its profits tumble dramatically in recent years and has reported massive losses for its most recently assessed financial quarter. Sales across the business were worth €7.4 billion (£6 billion) in the first three months of 2012, which compared badly with the same period a year ago when they were valued at closer to €10.4 billion.
Intel has announced the introduction of a new range of computer processors that it insists will revolutionise the consumer technology industry worldwide. A bold claim but the technology certainly appears impressive on paper with the promise of offering significantly greater computing power based on the use of considerably less energy.
